COVID-19 Update: If you or someone in your care has a temperature ≥ 100.4, a dry cough and believe it may be related to COVID-19, call your medical provider first about seeking medical attention. In the absence of a medical emergency, walk-in physician office and walk-in emergency room visits are not appropriate and may put others at risk. Calling ahead allows your medical provider to help you gain access to the most appropriate care in the fastest, safest way possible. For questions, Brazoria County Health Department has a COVID-19 question line open M-F 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and can be reached at (979) 864-2167.  More information is available below on this webpage, along with, links to the CDC and Texas Department of Health Services COVID-19 websites.

Emergency Medicine

SCH has a Level IV Trauma Facility, Designated by the State of Texas, to provide care for all trauma patients. We  admit trauma patients to our Medical/Surgical unit for close monitoring, care of their injuries, and education on how to care for themselves upon discharge home. Our job is to stabilize all critical trauma patients and transfer them to a Level I trauma center, for continuation of care.

Our Emergency Department is led by Board Certified and professional ED Physicians. Bay Area Emergency Partners, lead by Dr. Corey Anderson, staff our ED 24-hours a day. All of our ED Physicians & RN’s are trained and certified in caring for the most critical of trauma patients.

There is over 100 years of Emergency/Critical Care experience between all of our ED RN’s. We are able to treat any illness or injury, no matter how serious or urgent, with experienced staff.

We have X-Ray, CAT scan, Cardiopulmonary and Laboratory services available to the ED 24/7 365, along with top of the line equipment that allows us to provide top of the line care.

All of the ED staff wants you to know that we want you to think of us first when you think about emergency care!
