SCH Prepared to be Part of Solution
Sweeny Community Hospital is prepared to do its part to stop the spread of COVID-19. If you have symptoms that lead you to believe you or someone in your care has symptoms of COVID-19 and you seek medical attention, your first step is to call your primary care provider so they can prepare for your visit. Their preparation for your visit can prevent you from additional adverse effects and help keep staff and other patients safe.
If you determine a visit to the SCH emergency room, you will be screened at the door to determine if you may enter and register, or if you need to return to your car where experts will meet you to screen you further.
Another step we’ve taken is to implement new visiting hours. This precaution is to ensure your visit here is without any adverse issues. Visiting hours are now 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. One visitor per day is permitted into a patient room; visitors must be at least 18 years-of-age. No visitors are allowed for out-patient procedures.
“Visitors are welcome to spend time with their loved ones and having loving visitors is important to patient wellness. By implementing this change, we enhance our ability to ensure we’re doing everything possible for our patients and their visitors to help them stay healthy,” said Kelly Park, CEO. “Additionally, this type of change can help us all do our part to try to stop the spread of this virus.
“We are reminded that many have their focus on COVID-19, but we continue to treat patients with the illnesses and issues we address every day,” Park added.
If you have a suspected case of COVID-19, we advise you to contact your local county health department for additional guidance and recommended next steps.
