24-Hour, Physician-Staffed Emergency Department
Because emergency care is one of the most important services we provide, Sweeny Community Hospital operates a $2.1 million Emergency Department with plenty of room to handle the ever-increasing number of patients seen here annually. In March 2005, the State of Texas designated SCH as a Level IV Trauma Center. The SCH Emergency Department is staffed by a physician and registered nurses, with ancillary services available 24 hours a day. Our physicians are also hospitalists who can admit patients to our inpatient units and oversee their care there.
