Auxiliary
The Sweeny Community Hospital Auxiliary, (also known as “Pink Ladies”) organized in 1964 – a year before the hospital opened. Some of the original members still volunteer their time to raise money for the hospital and meet its needs.
Auxiliary members staff the hospital’s Gift Shop, distribute flowers and mail to patients, and assist the hospital staff with errands and special requests.
Over the years, the organization has raised thousands of dollars for hospital equipment of all kinds. Through raffles, bake sales, salad luncheons, craft shows, teas and other activities, the Pink Ladies also increase community awareness of the hospital. Several times a year, the auxiliary sponsors a blood drive at The Wellness Center in Sweeny in cooperation with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center.
